Battle Born Preps Next Level Showcase and Combine Digital Program

Battle Born Preps Next Level Showcase and Combine Digital Program

Good afternoon, and welcome to Battle Born Preps. For the second time in the last three years, I have had the pleasure of helping put together a showcase for our area's best basketball players. Today is the day where those players are given the opportunity to put those talents on display.

For some of these players it will be their last time that they hit the hardwood to represent their schools in Northern Nevada, for others they will have an opportunity to see how they "stack up" against some of the best of the best that the region has to offer. For a select few they will be playing at the next level. Are they up for the challenge?

Doors open at 5 PM for the games (Girls tip at 6 PM, Boys tip at 7:30 PM) as they will be played at North Valleys HS (1470 E. Golden Valley Road, Reno, Nevada, 89506). Participants who have been selected will have the option of participating in a combine before their games. The combine is presented by Kime Performance (this portion of the event is not open to the public). The combine will consist of measuring a player's agility, speed, and vertical leap among other testing.

Interesting fact: The players invited to this game come from as far away as up to 307 miles (Spring Creek) and the total distance covered for our participants is a radius of over 740 miles (from South Tahoe to Eureka to Spring Creek to North Valleys and everywhere in between).

Cost to attend both games will be $10 (cash only) per person, paid at the door.

For those that are curious... The gate being collected will pay for the event, which is being held for the participants at no cost to them. Some of the costs associated with the event include uniforms (which the participants get to keep), facility use fees, event insurance, referees, broadcast team, announcer/statistician, drinks/snacks for the participants and MVP trophies to name a few. We are proud to announce that our selections represent 24 different high schools from around our area (Northern Nevada / Northern California).

I cannot stress this enough... your community support is necessary - again, this event is being held at no cost to the participants. Any proceeds beyond the gate that are raised by a raffle and/or snack bar will directly go back to the North Valleys basketball teams.

Not your normal HS games... These games will be played with four 12-minute quarters to ensure that every participant gets playing time, coaches have been instructed to do their best to ensure every player receives a minimum amount of playing time prior to the start of the fourth quarter. At the beginning of the fourth quarter, I like to say it's "Winning Time" and the players that give their team's the best chance to win can be expected to play a fair number of minutes in the final frame.

Below you will find the team rosters below as well as each individual's stats from this past season.

Without further ado, Ladies first...
